There have been a number of questions about licensing and other copyright questions on the Discord, it would be great to have either a blog post or ideally a repo/gist that folks can curate some resources to help maintainers figure out things like:
What license should I use for my repo and what do they mean?
What year should I put next to the copyright in the file headers (also do I need file headers?)

There are some general licensing guides, but I haven't found one that I can tell has been reviewed by lawyers to explain how to choose which license you want, especially in the quantum tech space which has lots of industry and academic collaboration.
