Force Bracket into less than 8 athletes weightcategory

I would like to know if is there any way i can generate a direct bracket for weightcategories wih less than 8 atlhetes, and do not use nordic system/round robins?

Is there any way a category with 4 athletes, for example, generates a two seed bracket?

Hi Agata,

for 5 and less participants, Arena will always generate nordic group. Imagine, for 4 athletes, they would have 2 matches (Semifinal and then the medal match) in bracket mode. Which is "unfair" with those who might lose their semifinal (no more chance to prove). For the same number of athletes, nordic group would add + 1 match for every athlete (+2 matches in total for the weight category) but would provide more fair ranking.

In terms of 6, 7 participants, the current rules create 2 nordic groups for them. However you have an option in Arena, to change the ranking type of the event from Individual to Individual with 2017 rules before the matches would have been generated. In this case Arena will create bracket (instead of the 2 nordic groups) for weights with 6 or 7 participants.

That's all Arena can support now.

I agree, it is unfair this way i suggested rs! But, for some specific events and situations sometimes it would be optimal do dysplay a brackets for 5 or less participants. I will have an event where the quarter finals losers make a new bracket to fight for a second series medals, as they are four people and the rules for this competiton agreed in do not use nordic system, i will need a bracket for 4. I understand arena does not support this, but if you have anny suggestion in how to handle this part of the competiton in arena I would apreciate the help :).

It requires some computation, but you can fill up the bracket with "dummy" athletes to reach the 8 person (or by having the 2017 rules enabled - 6 person) and get the bracket layout. That way the real athletes' first matches should be automatically closed by 'VFO'. I have no better idea...

No worries, thanks for the support. The dummys idea was my first option :) but I tried to know if there was any other possibilities... certanly I will be using 2017 rules play system anyway. Thanks again for the support!
