VFO and repechage #40

Which application you are experiencing a problem with Arena 1.5.73

Describe the bug One of the wrestlers (7) did not show up for the weigh-in in the first day. According to the draw, he was supposed to wrestle right away in 1/4 and did not participate in qualification. So the secretariat set VFO to him in match 164.

Everything went OK until this morning when the repechage in this weight were about to start. We noticed that start time of the morning session on mat B (where this weight was scheduled) starts at 14:54 while the entire session start time was scheduled at 11:00. Mats A & B were OK, starting at 11:00. There was no obvious way to change this behavior.

So I started to investigate the matches for mat B. It turned out that the very first match (219) there was involving wrestler (7) (the one with VFO) was dated back by yesterday, 14:54 AND completed at that time while it is pretty obvious that we didn't check and confirm this match yesterday, just because it is repechage by nature and can be seen in Arena on the repechage day only! The wrestler (7) was set VFO and must be excluded from competition, and never appear in repechage.

In order to start matches on mat B correctly I cleared the results of match 219 and everything returned to normal start time on mat B.

Looks like Arena in its inner logic has more priority for repechage than for the fortfeit. After all, it is totally unclear why match 219 was completed by Arena the day before it could be scheduled, and why the wrestler with VFO in the first day was propagated into repechage.

Yes, "technically" the wrestler (7) indeed lost to the winner and participates in repechage, but NOT with VFO loss! Am I right?

To Reproduce Cannot reproduce during the tournament right now, will do later and update this issue. Please refer to the documents attached for the first estimation.

Expected behavior Correct Arena behavior in repechage and VFO manadgement, i. e. wrestler with VFO doesn't move further in the bracket up to the repechage even if he has "technically lost" to the winner from his part of bracket.

Your bracket is following the rules correctly. Even if somebody loses their match in the qualif due to forfeit, if they are deserved for a repechage, they will be added automatically. And because of their forfeit status, the repechage match is automatically closed and the winner will be their opponent.

In the next version of Arena there is an improvement on the expected start time of the match. You are right, there is no way to change the start time per mat, but per session (Edit session allows you to change the time). This time is used as the start time of every mat during that session.

Hi @theswix , the new version (1.5.74.1) is out. When your time permits, please check the new functions and fixes if those satisfy your needs here.
