I initially tried using a HT-225D ratchet crimper tool, which I already owned for Dupont connectors. However I found it almost impossible to use on the pins for a JST PA connector. It kept over-crimping and breaking the cable off.
I decided to buy a new crimp tool and can highly recommend the Engineer PA-09 tool. It looks a lot more basic but it is higher quality and so much easier to use than the ratchet tool. It takes a little bit of time to crimp each pin but I am usually successful.
Would you recommend any affordable tool that is universal enough to crimp any of the three different contacts required for this cable? Preferably anything below 50-60USD.
