Panic occured in file "Launcher\src\main.rs" at line 186 , Uplay_rs_loader.dll not found. Please make sure the launcher is in the correct location #36

It was working fine before and now I'm getting this error when I try to open the launcher , I re-exracted the files as a "reinstall" workaround thinking it will reset everything but it seems like the launcher has its own memory config file stored somewhere on my Drive but I can't find it.

This was an attempt to reset the launcher completely because it won't let me register or login my Ubisoft ID suggesting it's already taken or username is taken.

Is there anyway to reset the launcher? I think it's not injecting itself at all because it seemingly believes that it's already injected when it isn't , I even reinstalled the game btw.

Would really appreciate some help , thanks a lot for this btw you are a wonderful person

Try to delete uplay_r1_loader.dll and rename uplay_r1_loader.orig.dll to uplay_r1_loader.dll, then start launcher

That's the thing , I reinstalled the game so there's no orig.dll version there , i am assuming that happens when the launcher injects itself successfully right? It adds a custom uplay.dll and renames the original one as orig.dll at the end.

So no file to delete , it's already uninstalled but it seems to think it's not? Just need a reset i guess

The launcher tries to find the game location by looking for the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Splinter Cell Blacklist\installdir registry key. If this key doesn't exist or if it points to the wrong location, the launcher is unable to find the game.

Alternatively, you can place the launcher.exe into the game folder, so that it can find the files it needs.

I actually fixed it...somehow idk. I was messing around with it and when i opened the game randomly once , from steam , it just asked that some file was missing and if i would like to generate one , i clicked yes and there i go , it started working again.

Also , everything worked out in the end and we are able to play co-op at last , thanks for keeping this game alive !

I wish Conviction's Co-op was as easier to make work than this , we can connect but the game usually goes out of sync in 30 mins or sometimes longer , like an hour. Well beggers can't be choosers , atleast you can still manage to play these games's co-op even today and they are a blast!
