Black screen with remote play (w/sound) #785

Open marty526 opened 1 year ago

marty526 commented 1 year ago

When trying to remote play on beta 5 or beta 6, I get a black screen only. If i move the mouse I can see the (Disconnect, Menu, Debug) options, but nothing else. If i use a controller connected to the xbox and move it, I can hear the actual xbox in the background, just no video. I had no issues with beta 4, but once i tried updating to beta 5, nothing seems to work, not even beta 4.

@marty526 What device are you on? What version of OS are you using if on a PC or Mac?

marty526 commented 1 year ago

Trying to remote play from Xbox Series X to Steam Deck. Cloud play works fine, just remote not working. Sound is fine, just no video

joelguth commented 1 year ago

Experiencing this issue on the steam deck as well, just a black screen. Was working fine on beta 4 previously, so it appears to have recently stopped working within the last few days. Upgraded to beta 6 just to see if the issue resolved and it did not, but I do not suspect the issue was introduced in an update.

I can confirm this issue is happening on the newest 2.0.0Beta6 as well. Tried using 1.2.0, but issue still persist.

Running the application on SteamDeck's desktop mode, streaming locally from the same network

It also happens to me. I have to play in beta 3 to play correctly (I didn't test beta 4, but I did with 5 and 6. No video, but with sound).

Edit: Test on Steam Deck. Last OS Update.

I've run into a similar issue and it's worth checking that the resolution is set to FullHD in the Xbox settings, not 720p

marty526 commented 1 year ago

@maxbin123 - Thank you for this. I changed my res to 1080 and the greenlight app started working again on my Stream Deck. I hope that it can be changed to allow 720p. I have my xbox on that because anything over 720 my Netflix starts flashing white unless i change back to 720. Thanks for the help though! -Not sure if allowing 720 is possible with Greenlight, but would like to request it if possible.

I can confirm this is the working solution. Once you change your xbox output to be 1080p in its settings, the Greenlight streaming is now working (and it’s working amazing!). I’m on 1.2.0, but pretty sure this solution works for the newer 2.0++ as well.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I have this problem on Mac M1, do you think this will work also? But i cant find any setting for resolution in serrints, only bitrate.

maxbin123 commented 1 year ago

@riso348 Sure, but these settings are in xbox, not in app itself: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/display-sound/change-tv-display-resolution

This might be worth tossing an error message up if the console is set to 720... this was difficult to troubleshoot.

Amazing app, the only issue I have had!
