I am trying to buy a lock on Arb with MATIC. The price shown is 0.06262 MATIC. I had 1 MATIC in my wallet but the tx wont go through. After added another MATIC it worked, and it turned out that the final price was 1.803 MATIC (quite some difference). I guess the bulk of difference is gas / bridge / decent fee, but it may be better to show an estimate

Good point, we should show both the ERC20 + the cost in native tokens (used for fees + crosschain gas)
