Jaxl hangs on CentOS with PHP 5.1.6 #25

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to run echobot application on CentOS with PHP 5.1.6
2. View Jaxl log where it hangs are receiving <proceed xmlns="..."/> from the 
server
