What kind of change does this PR introduce?

What is the current behavior?

We use a hard coded xmlns which could result in duplication of namespaces which causes an invalid output.

What is the new behavior?

We use the explicit default root namespace

This is an automatic backport of pull request #297 done by Mergify.
