Maxel forces use of the High Perf GPU, which uses a lot more power, killing battery life quickly, especially when Maxel is not even using it for anything.

Does that happen all the time or only after using it for awhile, possibly the built in browser?

I'm not seeing that in 10.12.1

I can’t seem to repo this after restarting it, not sure why. I had not used it recently, and it was not active or anything, just got no clue...

Is this issue still happening? I noticed I could force it to happen by visiting a page which uses WebGL in maxel's builtin browser, but it seems to go away upon restarting the app. If that doesn't work, perhaps you can reset Maxel's settings with a rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.unregistered.Maxel

Alright, restarting works but it definitely repress whenever opening something containing webgl in maxel, so while restarting isn't too bad, it would be easy not to catch it. any chance of a fix?

I'll put it on my list but I think the issue runs deep into how I'm using the webview... I'd like to get around to it one day but I have higher priority issues like data corruption and popular features. In the meantime you should be able to use something like https://gfx.io/ to force the integrated card.

I think I have been experiencing this issue. I often use Maxel and Final Cut Pro X at the same time and recently noticed that downloading with Maxel severely affects the performance of FCPX.

I can't remember when this started, but I can provide any data necessary.
