Expected result: What were you expecting to happen? Every time you kill a player, a death message shows up
Actual result: What actually happened? Sometimes a player does not actually die. He'll get teleported to his spawn location and keep his inventory, while no death message shows up in the chat

Is Immediate respawn open in game rules?

No, it isn't. The issue seems to occur sometimes, but not always.
