Allow a factor with > 2 levels as treatment variable, and return results for all groups (or a specified subset) relative to group 1 (or an alternative base?)

Done for base group = 1.

[x] Should also work for other reference groups if set using 'contrasts'? To be tested
[x] Enforce type checking on 'treatment' variable
