Firefox (10.0.2), Chrome fine.

Safari (5.1.7): " Search: all fields" drop down vertically smaller than rest of row (trivial matter, really);

IE9: Top and bottom (black) bars don't render properly

IE8: Apologies - I no longer seem to have a working copy.

IE7: None of backgrounds render properly; shrinking the width does not cause any sort of orderly collapse - you just get a scroll bar

IE8: Probably as IE7

IE needs to render correctly on a desktop but it is not necessary that it should collapse - certainly not in IE7.

IE7 not fixed. Green "Search the catalog (sic) box is white. White boxes "Browse the catalogue" and "Quick links" do not render. (Text is on top of background image.)

Issue invisible due to IE developer-tool 'false positive'.
