I've discovered I misused "purge" so many times that batch loaders - usually devs or ops people - are the only ones who can outright reject a batch. That functionality was called "purging" the batch from NCA... but the permission was built for people who can purge batches from ONI. So using the permission there has prevented regular batch admins from saying "this batch is no good and needs to be removed and rebuilt."
Looking through the app and docs, there are a lot of place "purge" is used when other terms would be less likely to lead to confusion.
