While reviewing code and noticing that 1.20 was still in use, I went to see if 1.21 was considered for future releases. This led me to the CONTRIBUTION.MD. When I clicked on the Release Process reference to crossplane's contributing, it 404'ed. I looked around for the the updated link and found in this crossplane git commit that these notes were removed since its only applicable internally. I'm going to create a quick PR to resolve similarly.
