Using layouts in subdirectories

Losing my mind trying to figure out why exhibits/memorias-vivas/index.html won't load the base.njk layout as defined in its frontmatter.

I would try changing index.html to index.md or to index.njk and add {% extends "base.njk" %} 11ty uses the suffix to parse the file. My guess is that it's treating it at html and ignoring the frontmatter
