After contacting support, there is another error message when clicking on the confirm email link sent

Identity Verification requires input
Your identity verification could not complete because of the following error:
The information provided could not be matched against global databases.
Please contact verifyid@netlify.com for support
Why did this happen?
Getting started with Netlify is quick, but this also means that bad actors try to abuse our service to host illegal content, phishing sites, spam, or similar content against our terms of service.
To protect against this and help make the web safe for everyone, our automated fraud detection system will compare any new sign up against the patterns of fraudulent users, and if there is a high enough correlation, we will trigger this identity verification process.
Verifying your identity only takes a moment and allows you access to Netlify's services.

This is a Netlify-related problem, and it happens when their system, for whatever reason, flags a GitHub account as fraudulent.

Potential Resolutions

  1. Clearing the browser data and logging in with plain email and password
  2. If that didn't work, you need to contact Netlify to manually approve / confirm your account. There is a thread on the Netlify support forum that seems to be for this issue, Netlify support forum. You can add your issue there and they will contact you or solve the issue for you. You will probably get a similar email message from Netlify as seen in the image below:

If this issue continues, some more permanent options:

  1. Change our workflow to set up Netlify during System Setup
  2. Switch off Netlify
