file size information issues #1286

the file size information in the Media list of the Studio is incomplete - many media items that have been recently uploaded show "no size" (as well as a lot of older items that must have been uploaded before the system was in place).

it's hard to understand the colours - everything up to 97.4 kB is green; from 97.7. kB to 488.1 kB it's orange; then from 489.7 kB it's red. this doesn't really make sense when we have a default limit of 1 MB, & doesn't really help users in any way. @vickis thoughts on why we need these colours & can it be more helpful??

the media interface inside the Stage Management interface helpfully shows the total file size of a stage, however this takes a really long time to load (presumably because it displays thumbnails of ALL media as the default display which i'll make a separate issue for as it's unnecessary).

I think the thumbnails are useful as not everyone names files well … but better user processes would help there

but is it really problematic? the dance plague stage has three big (over 100MB) videos on it still loads fast (that's been my experience) or at least fast enough that it's not an issue. so why should we get a red warning with something that's only 500kB?

i can imagine that it might be good to have a red warning with something that is say 5 or 10MB.

but since the upload limit isn't working at all right now, it's a moot point; anyone can upload a file of any size (or, perhaps not over somewhere like 150MB as has been john's experience). i think the upload limit might not be working because the file size is broken / not showing since the latest update.

@vickis please add this information to #1285, it's an open issue for the upload limit not working. (this issue is about the display of file size information, which is a different issue although connected)
