"Individual" jitsi - feature requirements

the "individual" jitsi tool allows a player to place their audio-visual stream on the stage, which then functions on the stage as an object, e.g. turning on the lightbulb once it's in position and ready to expose to the audience.

features that already exist with individual jitsi on upstage.live:

• shows the audio-visual stream of one player, no frame or tools visible to audience
• can be made larger and smaller, turned and moved around on the stage
• can be made transparent with the slider at the left
• has a right-click menu that includes changing the shape to round, change move speed, flip, moving forward and back

features that are needed:

• players and audience entering the stage after an individual jitsi stream has been placed on the stage should be able to see and hear the stream
• volume control added to the right-click menu

use case scenarios:

• in a performance, two dancers in different places put their individual jitsi onto the stage so that they are overlapping and semi-transparent; as they dance, it appears that they are in the same space, touching and moving together.
• a player uses their individual jitsi for audio only, making the image small and transparent and speaking or playing live music that is streaming into UpStage
• a player puts their individual jitsi behind a prop object such as a house that has cut-out windows, so that their live video stream appears in a window of the house.
• a player uses their individual jitsi to introduce a performance, or to give a presentation, without the audience being asked to also share their cam and mic.

last night annie and i used the Individual Jitsi tool in our performance, and it worked well. everyone in the audience could hear, at least those who were there when we started. i don't know if all were seeing, but after the introduction annie faded her video out so that it was just an audio stream.

i attached a screenshot so that the devs can see how important it is that we do not have any of the Jitsi things showing (as now on dev-app for Indivdiual Jitsi)

another feature that would be useful, if possible, would be a right-click menu on the THUMBAIL of your webcam (in the toolbar, e.g. similar to how there is a right-click menu on backdrop thumbnails). at the moment, there is a right-click menu on the thumbnail but it's from the browser, and it doesn't work - for example in firefox it shows a mute option, but this doesn't stop my audio stream from being heard in UpStage.

this menu would be a great place to have the following functions for your individual jitsi stream (if possible):

• volume control & mute
• performance settings (the Jitsi setting that is by default "highest quality" of your stream, & steps down to "best performance")
• the ability to change input devices (camera & mic) - as currently once you allowed your cam and mic as initially requested it's almost impossible to change to a different one, even reloading the stage doesn't always result in the browser asking you again which devices to allow.
