True I didn' t notice during the show but now I check the recording and I agree.
merci elisa. here also an example from me, showing that it happens every time, whether it's from completely transparent or not - although now that i look at it uploaded here as a gif, the flash is actually now always as noticeable, as it is in UpStage. @webdev604 - please try it on the stage yourself to see what is happening in the live event.
i've just watched the recording of last night's performance, and observed that often (maybe always?) there is a flash of an image before i fade it up to appear on the stage. this is what happens:
i place the image (prop or other media) on the stage and, before turning on the lightbulb, i put the opacity slider to the bottom so that i can fade the prop in. i turn on the light bulb, and the image is not visible because it's faded out. then i start to fade it in - but at the moment when i start to move the opactity slider up, there is a tiny flash of the image at full opacity.
i have just tried this several times, & it in fact happens every time, even if the opacity is not set to completely transparent: as soon as you start to increase the slider, there is a micro-second flash of the full image before it fades up.
i will put up an example of this when i have time. it is actually quite disconcerting in situations like yesterday's performance, where i was doing this a lot, changing the opacity of black and white images, & there keep being these tiny flashes.
