Permissions and rights to material are listed in the copyright material (in terms of visual material). In most instances the copyright has stayed with the original owner. Ie. all the Peter Heathwood images have been supplied by Peter and he has retained copyright. However, when we did the interviews we had the authors/subjects signed forms saying we could use these/and any materials they handed over for the project. These are in hard copy in the office.
If terms of the library, I think the content they are most keen on is the interviews and we have copyright clearance for all that material. The visual material (which often comes from all over the place) is less clear.
