What do these changes do?

Adds kotlin specification to android build config and migrates away from build script to resolve warnings
Updates some small things in the UI like the tab bar height being outside safe area in ios

Why are these changes necessary?

Keep things up to date and test some changes to android builds

How did you verify these changes?

Manually tested both samples
