Have you added :sound along with 'default' in the APS hash?
Yes. I have figured this out already. Thank you for the response though. It was a mistake on my part. Thanks again.

I can't seem to find anywhere in the documentation on how to tell the push to play a sound on the phone. I tried adding the :sound symbol to the aps hash in my push from the server, but that didn't work.
