This PR refactors the install script to be simpler and more streamlined and also brings the actual app contents up to parity with our latest changes from software distribution.
I wasn't sure if we wanted anything more substantial in the desk folder beyond just what's required to get an app tile. And also I'd like verification that the contents of desk are correct. I think there may be files needed from base and garden? Trying to think of an easy way to get those in that's always up to date.
