0.2.9.8 seems the new stable branch now, I just got it to work but it involves a patch (I peeked at iCepa) to configure.ac and needs to run autoconf again.

I reported the issue upstream

Haha I feel like this happens every couple releases. I think tracking the stable branch is good though. Thanks!
