RapidSSL: How to resolve on Firefox "Could not verify this certificate because the issuer is unknown." #122

Hi Usbong, I encountered this issue while browsing https://store.usbong.ph, which is where we installed the RapidSSL Certificate.

Could not verify this certificate because the issuer is unknown.

I used Firefox Quantum (62.0.3 (64-bit)).

In addition, we expect the RapidSSL Certificate that we purchased to expire next year, Aug. 2019.

I've also verified this issue on: https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2018/03/12/distrust-symantec-tls-certificates/

Action Plan: 1) Receive dotPH's support/helpdesk's reply to resolve this issue. --> Owner: Mike --> Finish: 20181022 (Monday)

Thank you.

Peace, Mike

Hi Usbong, I have received the reply from dotPH's support/helpdesk.

It appears that I'll need to re-verify the steps to install RapidSSL's Intermediate Certificate.

Action Plan:

  1. Re-verify RapidSSL's Intermediate Certificate installation. --> Owner: Mike --> Finish: 20181023 (Tuesday)

Thank you.

Peace, Mike

Hi Usbong, I have re-verified my installation of RapidSSL's Intermediate Certificate.

As it turned out, the issue was caused by the owner and group's write permissions. This led to the Intermediate Certificate not being the newest version.

In summary, dotPH's support/helpdesk and I have resolved this issue.

Thank you.

Peace, Mike
