We should try this out: http://trentm.com/2012/03/google-code-to-github.html

I just attempted to convert everything from google code svn files to github files using this guy's tool, but it didn't seem to work. Doing a little research on other methods now.

Trying this conversion tool instead http://fgiasson.com/blog/index.php/2011/11/21/moving-projects-from-google-code-to-github/

Booooo I have to make an authors.txt, hope this works

Converting the files is proving difficult. I did a sample wiki page, where I just pushed a old file and converted it by hand in the wiki editor, but that's not practical for 100+ files. There are a few little utilities for converting svn to git, but I can't get any of them to actually work...

Here's what I've tried so far: http://fgiasson.com/blog/index.php/2011/11/21/moving-projects-from-google-code-to-github/ http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/ConvertingSvnToGit http://awesomegeekness.com/blog/?p=17

Huh, I noticed that some of the pages that we copied over to this wiki are way out of date compared to their corresponding pages on the old wiki. For instance the electrical overview page reflects a version of the electrical overview page on the old wiki that's at least one year old. I don't know if this is an issue with version control on the Google Code side or what. We should figure out how to fix it though as it would suck to lose this work. The issue is inconsistent, to there are other pages we have brought over are totally up to date. I think that this issue might only affect pages that existed before we switched version control on Google Code from SVN to Git, but I haven't verified that in any way.

I used git to pull down the wiki from the old site and it looked up-to-date as far as I can tell. Ran my conversion script on it (which still misses some stuff like handling table formats) and tried to push, but nothing changes on the new wiki. I push one test page, which worked. Pushing/pulling reports that everything is up-to-date, but my files are clearly different.

I just attempted to remove everything from the wiki, but again nothing happened. Then I edited my test post... and voila! It works. Then I tried to push things again, but no dice.
