"We used several tools for our USDS team's work on the Facing Financial Shock Income Verification project. These activities allowed our team to deeply explore who we are serving - a largely vulnerable, low-income population seeking safety net benefits like SNAP and Medicaid - and gave us a safe and thoughtful space to hear from and learn about each of our team-members and our own unique backgrounds. These exercises helped us define what we are solving for with a user-centered framing that went deeper into equity considerations that we would have otherwise considered"

"We used the Positionality and Participation Spectrum tools for our USDS team's work on the HRSA OPTN project. These activities not only made us feel connected on a deeper level as a team, but also helped us validate that we needed to prioritize a hiring effort at HRSA to get them the skills they need to sustainably center patients better in their modernization work. We're kicking off this effort with HRSA HR next week :muscle::skin-tone-2: .
