Twitter and PR #19

bgruening commented 5 years ago

Collect general stats about the event.

simonbray commented 5 years ago

I can help with this, though I don't think I will be around on Saturday and Sunday.

bgruening commented 5 years ago

Most of the tweets can probably be prepared way in advance. I imagine a GDoc with our schedule and for every event, there is a tweet prepared. @tnabtaf could then schedule these tweets in advance or provide us access to the Galaxy account. Maybe @hrhotz can help here as well.

hrhotz commented 5 years ago

sure, I will help

simonbray commented 5 years ago

I made a list of tweets for each talk and training: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YyVs6ZEpbvbjAY5dQDPY7wRR291VzEqnfd9pn8OpkY4/edit#

Any comments are welcome.

hrhotz commented 5 years ago

WOW - this is a great piece of work! brilliant thank you very much. Once the schedule has been finalized with the last minute corrections, we can schedule them into twitter

bgruening commented 5 years ago

@simonbray thanks a lot! Great work.

Should we ask the presenters for their twitter account if they have?

simonbray commented 5 years ago

I added twitter accounts where I could find them. However I might have missed some, so asking is not a bad idea.

tnabtaf commented 5 years ago

Thanks @simonbray! That looks like a ton of work.

We use TweetDeck to schedule tweets. I can do this, and/or I can give you access to the @gaalxyproject twitter account too (but my instinct tells me you done enough tedious work already).

simonbray commented 5 years ago

@tnabtaf I don't mind loading them into TweetDeck. Let me know.

tnabtaf commented 5 years ago

@simonbray I've given you access to schedule tweets through @galaxyproject. If you use Tweetdeck (and maybe other tools too) you can what tweets have been scheduled already.

Thanks

simonbray commented 5 years ago

Thanks, have added the tweets to the scheduler.

bgruening commented 5 years ago

Great, @simonbray can we create a GDoc where we can put in new tweets and you monitor this GDoc and if you add it to the tweetdeck you remove it from this Doc?

hrhotz commented 5 years ago

@bgruening that is a good idea @simonbray I will help you monitor this GDoc

simonbray commented 5 years ago

Here it is: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q8pOc-zpBRYi09iFC26MO6ulQO6sbn3o7BzVh45UDv0/edit?usp=sharing

bgruening commented 5 years ago

Thanks a lot!

hrhotz commented 5 years ago

nobody has been using the GDoc so far, hasn't-it?

bgruening commented 5 years ago

no time to tweet
