NextAction split webpage #4

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Save the nextaction .html file (as 'web page, complete' type)
2. Open the local copy you just saved in Firefox.
3. Click on any link.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

EXPECTED: A single webpage, without any frames, just like I do if I did the
exact same thing in the webpage on the NextAction website.

ACTUAL: A single webpage, with part of the top portion of the new location
displayed in a small lower frame, and the bottom of the old page (ie before
you clicked on the link) shown in the large top frame. This makes almost
all sections entirely unusable (eg dashboard is cropped before the actual
action summaries are visible, and has no scrollbar.)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
NextAction Personal Edition 0.80; Firefox 2.0.0.4; Google Gears Beta;
Ubuntu 6.06.

Please provide any additional information below.

BTW, the reason I did not post this on the forum first is, I can't -- I
registered,
logged in, and then found that clicking on the 'Post new topic' or 'Post reply'
links
returned an empty webpage (as in, 0 bytes big)

Hi, sorry about the forum foo. Looking into that.

Next Action Personal Edition 0.80 uses Google Gears RDBMS so save all its
records and
data. So, you no longer need to do File->Save Page anymore. If you have Google
Gears installed and enabled, just visit the Next Action start URL
(http://trimpath.com/demos/static_nextaction.html) anytime you want to use Next
Action, even if you're offline.

That struck me as counter-intuitive, and it is, in fact, not true. All that
happens
if I try to visit that URL when offline is the standard 'couldn't connect to
server'
error message page, just like I would get when trying to visit any other
webpage when
offline.
