which messagewindow plugin are you using?
is that only with Facebook?

I can just talk about Tabsrmm (greate plugin) and here it works perfect.

Only for the facebook plugin and I'm using the SRMM so the usual one.

The other plugins like ICQ, Yahoo have the avatar showing up in the Message
window.

Looking at the Account details (DBEdit+)

The Facebook has
  ContactPhoto
but not
  SRMM

Maybe that one is generated only on "new" contacts... I have no idea.
(Hope anyone else has a bit of deeper knowledge on this one)

when I add that SRMM module to a facebook contact
  SRMM
    - Avatar "C:\.....\image.jpg" String

Then the contact has it's avatar back.

This is not managed by a protocol, but by the Avatar Service plugin.
