I haven't used Windows in a long time, does it ship with /bin/sh by default now? And does that version of sh not honor $FOO-style vars?

Note this will also need the fix I just merged from #4.

Closing for the moment - need a little more investigation on pre windows10, and it's not as pressing with the new UI Export options
