Big map banner disappears after a few seconds #388

The banner shows up twice, big on the left column, small on the right. Once the posts begin to load, this banner disappears. It's possible this is by design, but it's a little jarring.

And yes, the poor Crowdmap elephant has hot (animated gif) pizza cheese dripping in his eye.
