From your experience, what means 'success' for a piece of written content?

e.g. Shares of articles, comments, people writing response articles, getting people involved.

CTA conversion rates (when there are forms, how many people fill them; tweet responses; article responses etc.)
overall blog visit
email subscribers (will help to have sign up box on all pages)
increased awareness of open design (social conversations, blog posts etc)
