Describe
Sometimes on Vultr systems, the system will appear to hang on cloud-init. The last line that appears in console appears to be:
subp.py[DEBUG]: Running command ['netplan', 'apply'] with allowed return codes [0] (shell=False, capture=True).
For the longest time, was believed this was cloud-init's fault, but this only occurred on systems that had CyberPanel installed.
Through some investigation, found this to be the fault of firewalld. When firewalld was removed in it's entirety, this problem stopped appearing.
This is such a specific issue, that I'm not even sure how many people would have bumped into this. But, it seemed like a good idea to document here.
Operating system:
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
CyberPanel version:
Version 2.3 / Build: 4 / Current Commit: c8da443334b8815ec250a0fba606e75355f641cd
