CMAKE #82

Perhaps not the most important thing, but it would be great if you used cmake instead of Makefiles, that would make porting the tests to windows quite doable. Yes, yes, I know that windows is not the dominant HPC platform, but that would help me enormously.

Simplifying portability to other platforms is certainly worthwhile. I'll start learning cmake. Thank you for the prompt.
