A big pain point in acquiring JATS or STS XML will be bibliographies, both providing adequate tagging, and linking correctly when links are available e.g. DOIs or (canonical) web sites.
Could a tool help with this? If not for link checking (since the application needs to be isolated) then for other parts of creating and managing bibliographic entries?
There might be challenges related to CORS (cross-origin resource sharing) depending on how ambitious is the design, but tbd.
