multiple simultaneous display windows break under win32 #13

i believe this has something to do with how i setup the windows callback, or
handle some messages
- it should be easy to fix, while i'm at it i should create an example program
that demonstrates this
behavior

this actually works, so i must have fixed it sometime after it was first
reported
last year -- the only problem is that the displays are all created at the same
exact
position on the screen, which sort of defeats the purpose.
