Search Strangeness

We have a page in our Wiki titled USU Websites - Doing the Work - Caretaker

When I go to our wiki and search for "USU Websites - Doing the Work - Caretaker"

I would assume that page would show up in the search results, however the search instead shows 2 different pages:

That links to the following 2 pages:

• USU Websites - Doing the Work - Infrastructure
• Documentation - Welcome

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to 'Digital Accessibility Services Wiki'
2. Enter "USU Websites - Doing the Work - Caretaker" into the search box (without quotation marks)
3. View results and see error

Expected behavior I would expect to see the USU Websites - Doing the Work - Caretaker page as the top search result.

@sierralvb - do you mind seeing if you can duplicate this with other pages? If you can, go head and prioritize this issue.

I think it might be an issue with changes to the docs syncing - I can search for documents that I know have existed for a while just fine, but it's new/updated documents that aren't popping up.

Thank you @sierralvb - I just noticed https://github.com/usu-accessibility/Pilot-Feedback/issues/4 . Do you think we should include this with those errors?

I would say to keep them separate - It's my suspicion that this issue specifically is that the search function isn't syncing with changes to the pages, which is a different issue than the other search error, which Spencer said was linked to issues with permissions. Then we also won't be adding more to an issue that they're already working on.

@cphillipsusu It can take up to 10 minutes in some scenarios for document changes and new document additions to index for search purposes. I will still capture the feedback/issue here and add to our open investigation into search not performing as expected.

@sririe just to give you a bit more of a timeline of the updates - the two examples that we shared were updated either last Thursday or Friday, so it has been a few days. Another example is this Discord Management page that I made last Friday that also doesn't pop up in the search bar. Thank you for your responses, though!
