The NEI color blindness page referenced in our color guidance has been updated. The new page no longer provides statistics referenced in our guidance.
The two statistics in question are:
The new guidance mentions the number of adult men with color blindness, but not adult women.
"About 1 in 12 men have color vision deficiency" ^1
The new guidance does not mention the percent of the general population with color insensitivity.
@JaymeCharles, could you do the research here to find out if these numbers are still accurate, and then if we can find a new .gov source to reference?

The NEI color blindness page referenced in our color guidance has been updated. The new page no longer provides statistics referenced in our guidance.
The two statistics in question are:
Approximately 0.5% of adult women and 8% of adult men have some kind of color insensitivity
The new guidance mentions the number of adult men with color blindness, but not adult women.
Approximately 4.5% of the population has some kind of color insensitivity
The new guidance does not mention the percent of the general population with color insensitivity.
