1k resistors are not suitable as they are out of range of recommended values. From datasheet: image

Connecting 100k resistor to SR pin sets the slew rate to the highest value: image

This can't be read form the datasheet, but highest slew rate caused problems last year with motors not starting or rotating properly. Using slew rates of 23 or 28 V/usec worked fine.

50k resistors are not very common. It's better to use 47k, which should also available in the lab.

It's not been tested whether it works or not, but slew rate of 38 V/usec is not too much smaller than 43 and might still cause problems.
