What I THINK is happening is that the "Columns" block is somehow not allowing inner-blocks. So the "column" block will not appear, and cannot be placed in it.
Note... the entire plugin had to be 'refactored' recently. I can go into that at another time. So this is the "columns" block. Not the "deprecated columns." You can use the deprecated columns to see the proper behavior.
Also of note, this is on the current development branch, not the main branch.
