I'm using QEMU 6.1.0 with the virtio-vga-gl device, and I have a few problems.
After installing the VirtIO drivers (everything except the SPICE drivers), I then manually installed the VirtIO GPU DOD driver (v2 which is the current latest), however I had one issue: when I installed it, the VM black screened. I had a hardware-drawn cursor, and I had sound in the VM, but a black screen.
I then rebooted and it worked, but I had a weird glitch on the Windows loading screen (but the one without the logo, just the loading animation) where the background was white if I remembered. Apart from that, graphics were working, however there is no support for dynamic resolutions when resizing the window, but I don't think that's the job of this driver though.
