Enabling "A2DP Volume" in Accessibility breaks "OK Google" function #183

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Device (phone) brand: LG/Google

Device (phone) model: Nexus 4

Android OS version: 4.4.2

App version number: 2.11.7

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Check this before A2DP Volume is installed:
  - Ensure "OK Google" function is working in "Google Now" app
2. Install A2DP Volume
3. In Settings -> Accessibility -> A2DP Volume: set to ON
4. Run "Google Now" app
5. Say "OK Google" --> It should no longer work

To confirm that this function was broken by enabling A2DP Volume in "Settings |
Accessibility", simply set it to "Off" in Accessibility and it will work again.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Ideally, this app should not interfere with Google Now's "OK Google" voice
recognition prompt.

Please provide any additional information below.

Please see the following 2 links for further information (including other apps
which suffer from the same issue) as well as a potential bugfix/work-around
which seems to imply a code change in A2DP Volume will be required.

Excellent description and details to this issue. I was able to quickly fix it.
Pushing 2.11.9 to Play Store for beta test now (should be ready to download in
a couple hours). Please test and confirm fix. I was able to easily reproduce
this on a Bionic with stock 4.1.2 so it impacted more than just KitKat. Thanks
again for the great info and feedback.

Just noticed another place in the code that could cause this. Fixed in
2.11.10. Will get strings updated so 2.11.10 is ready for prod. Go ahead and
test 2.11.9 but if you change the preferences in A2DP Volume it may break again
until you restart the accessibility service. You can restart it in Android
settings -> accessibility -> A2DP Volume then toggle it OFF then ON.

Hi there, I would love to test the new version but the Google Play Store is
still showing me version 2.11.7 from Jan 5, 2014. Which is the version I
already have on my phone.
I have refreshed several times and cleared the Google Play cache etc.

Thanks for the information. I successfully installed 2.11.10 and I confirm that
"OK Google" is working perfectly! Great job!
