• Renamed Section and moved Opacity to it's own section to resolve uuid6/uuid6-ietf-draft#79
• Defined v7/v8 along with v7E/v8E as I stated in uuid6/uuid6-ietf-draft#26
  • Also updated appendix for test vectors.
• Re-organized and dropped counter method 2 as per discussions on uuid6/uuid6-ietf-draft#60
• Updated references for RFC 4648
• Moved variant and version out of formats and grouped UUIDs by new formats, alternate variants, and alternate formats.

Thanks @kyzer-davis generally this is shaping up but I worry about this UUID 7 vs 7E, etc. - I think we need to coordinate further on this point. I'll be in touch on this. Just from a quick review the rest of it overall makes sense and probably any other issues I have could be addressed with minor edits which I can follow up with later after I've reviewed in more detail (this thing is still changing so quickly I haven't had a chance to read it from start to end without it changing as I'm reading it, lol - but hey, it's definitely shaping up so no worries.)

Let's chat about this 7 vs 7E thing and then decide if this should be merged as is or what.

All good. I have been burning the candle at both ends and iterating on the text daily based on the discussion threads in order to get this text ready for March 31st IETF resubmission.

Updated Fixed Length Counters for N-1 Technique over zero start as per uuid6/uuid6-ietf-draft#60

I have removed E Variant, Alt Encoding and UUID Long sections from the document. This XML has been retained and will be used for the start of a new draft on these 3 topics.
