Environmental load due to waves #309

Hi, Thank you for sharing your work. I am starting a project to develop a simulator for marine autonomous surface vehicles and the first step is to develop a simulator with good accurate simulation of vessel motion in waves. I found that in the paper titled "UUV Simulator: A Gazebo-based Package for Underwater Intervention and Multi-Robot Simulation" it was mentioned that environmental loads due to waves will be developed. Could you please let me know if this feature has been developed.

Hi @TobyThomasTech, I am glad it is helpful in your project. This is one of the next features to be worked on but I have no time plan for this yet. Since some changes happened in the project (the EU-Project where the UUV Simulator was a part of has ended this year), I am now reorganizing the feature requests and bug reports to keep maintaining. I will keep the feature requests updated here https://github.com/orgs/uuvsimulator/projects. I will pick up on where the project stayed and work on this topic. Meanwhile I have a suggestion of a project that has an implementation of wave loads on surface vessels at https://bitbucket.org/osrf/vmrc for the RobotX Maritime Challenge.
