Additionally, I would like to set a window by the time Homework 3 is due. Please let me know by then.
Hi @cswiercz,
I was put in 583C instead of 583B due to the number of spaces in the course sections. I work full-time. I'm trying to get my schedule free for that day, but if I cannot, is it possible for me to take the test with 583B?
Thanks! Sarah
@cswiercz
The Sunday/Monday time slot works best for me. I'm usually open to move my schedule around but I'll be attending the NAFEMS conference this year in Seattle June 7th (Tuesday) - 9th (Thursday) which has already been paid for by my work.
(I was actually going to send you a message this week about it so I'm glad you got the ball rolling with this discussion early).

I work all day MWF, so Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday work best for me.
Do you mean that, much like our quizzes, the window would be open from Sunday, June 5, 2016, 1030am to Tuesday, June 7, 2016, 12:20pm PST, and we would have two hours to complete the exam?
@gkelley87 Awesome
@hughkf Awesome
@werrah Yes. The exam format is just like the quizzes. Once you start the exam you will have two hours to finish. You are able start the exam at any time in the given window.
@sarahmagluyan I will remember to add you to the "big window" list.
Are we to expect little WRITING code and more READING code, much like the quizzes as well?
@WalesJ I decided to not include any code writing. However, there will be several problems where you will have to read over a piece of code and answer some questions about it.
This is a thread to determine a fair, yet reasonable, window for EDGE students in AMath 583B only to take the online examination. AMath 483/583 students in other sections will take the online final during the normally scheduled timeframe:
Tuesday, June 7, 2016, 10:30am - 12:20pm PST
However, because many EDGE students are working professionals and may not be able to take time out of the normal workday for a two-hour exam I am proposing the following for AMath 583B:
2-Hour window from Sunday, June 5, 2016, 1030am to Tuesday, June 7, 2016, 12:20pm PST
Please post here if you have a schedule conflict that absolutely cannot be moved. We will figure out something that works.
Edit: a student asked if a proctor is necessary. The answer is "no". Non-EDGE students will be "self-proctored" as well as EDGE students.
