524 preferred citation of described materials note

Is a citation constructed using a citation scheme an unstructured or structured description? I assume a citation scheme would function like a string encoding scheme so the citation comes out structured. The toolkit mapping only lists unstructured description.

That's a good question. I would view citation schemes/standard citation forms like the RBMS Standard Citation Forms as structured descriptions, regardless of what the Toolkit says? So we could say either structured or unstructured? What do you think @AdamSchiff ?

@pennylenger This mapping has "has note on manifestation" for the values of $2 and $3. Should these notes include some sort of text indicating that these are connected to the "has preferred citation" element with the value of $a?

Maybe something like "Preferred citation [value of $a] has source of schema used: [value of $2]" and "Preferred citation [value of $a] applies to: [value of $3]"
