Standardise thumbnails to a particular size

Currently the images are going through a resize process where it tries to create thumbnails of 200x150, but the problem is in order to keep the aspect ratio, we don't get exact size images as we told it to produce. If we try to neglect the aspect ratio, images will be distorted. As an alternative, I can look to reduce the white spaces between the rows so it will look bit more neat I presume. Could you advice what to do please?

Lloyd - can you read that thumbnail page and try out a few options we can show to the clients? Try scaling to fit in a square, maybe with a black border to fill in the short dimentsion, and cutting to fit and we'll see how a few samples look.
