How to map the fn and Eject keys #48

I have the software up and running and the Fmode works great. But I can't figure out how to remap the fn and Eject keys, which apparently can be remapped according to the README. Using an apple wireless keyboard A1314/Windows 10.

The only way I got the Fn keys to work correctly on Windows 10 was to use Apple's Bootcamp installer.

  1. Download the Bootcamp support software 5.1.5722 and extract it: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1836?locale=en_US
  2. Copy BootCamp.msi and AppleKeyboardInstaller64.exe from \bootcamp5.1.5722\BootCamp\Drivers\Apple\ to a standalone/separate folder;
  3. Open a command prompt as Administrator (e.g. Right-click on Start > "Command Prompt (Admin)");
  4. Navigate to the folder where you placed the two files (e.g. cd c:\path\to\folder);
  5. Run msiexec /i BootCamp.msi
  6. After reboot, things just... worked? :)

Does not work for me :( The "Current Modifier" list shown inside the "configuration" tab does not recognize the FN-Key at all when pressed. Any other ideas?

I have the same issue. A1843 keyboard, Windows 10, latest build & updates as of today. Fn and Eject keys are simply not registered.

Same on Windows 11 with Magic Keyboard Gen2 - Fb and Eject not recognized. I tried to install Bootcamp 6 drivers, but same result. Did someone find the way?

FYI if you do like @ttaveira advised https://github.com/uxsoft/AppleWirelessKeyboard/issues/48#issuecomment-770402927, you can possibly "break" windows 11 (it will boot with the blue screen) if you not running Windows via Bootcamp.

It's because this bootcamp software package is also installing file system drivers. You should delete these files if you are not running Windows via bootcamp:

To remove that stuff whatsoever you should do the same as advised for installing the drivers, but the command is:

Can't get anything to detect Fn, or the Eject key either. The Fn key does work, eg I can use Fn+backspace as Delete whether AppleWirelessKeyboardCore.exe is running or not, but neither it nor Nirsoft's KeyboardStateView show any sign of my PC knowing whether the key is pressed or not. Eject just does nothing.

Installing the Bootcamp drivers has made the volume buttons work, but didn't help with the Fn/eject situation, hasn't made play/pause or the track skip buttons work, and it renamed my ffffing C drive "BOOTCAMP". In all caps!! Screw you tim apple
